Senior Cap and Gown proofs will be handed out in AAP Tuesday, January 15th. Orders need to be returned to the front offices by Friday, January 25th.
Tuesday January 22nd, All ROTC cadets will attend both lunches. There will be a guest speaker.
On January 28th, a representative from the University of Arkansas in Monticello will be available for students during both lunch periods. She will be in the hallway outside the main counselors office.
There will be an ACT workshop on January 29th in the HS library from 8:00 am to 11:00 am. We won't be able to accommodate all the students who signed up because of lack of space, but we might be able to offer a second workshop. If so, those students will be notified. Students, please see the list of names by the door, in the front of the library to see if you are attending this first workshop.
There will be a workshop for 10th grade students on January 29th in the HS library from 1:30 - 2:30 pm. There is a list of the students that are attending this workshop, by the door in the front of the library.

Robert Stewart Education Scholarship deadline is April 15th, 2019
The Arthur & Blanch Raef Scholarship deadline is March 31st 2019

The Celebration of Life Scholarship is awarded to a high school senior in the state of Arkansas whose life has been affected by childhood cancer in some way. This award will be given to an individual who has been impacted by pediatric cancer, yet continues to celebrate every moment of life, living it to the fullest. This person may have had cancer themselves or had a family member/friend with cancer.

The applications are in the counselor's office for this scholarship, the deadline is April 1, 2019.
HHS LOVES their Students!
HHS students need to start bringing Valentine candy to their advisory for Valentine's parties next month. Please save shoeboxes, tissue boxes, cereal boxes, etc to make Valentine's card boxes during AAP.
The Scholarship Fair will be held in the library on January 24 from 5:30-7 pm. Local scholarship donors will be present with applications and will be available to answer questions. Clay Berry and his ASUMH staff will also be in attendance to answer financial aid questions.
Any student who needs financial help attending prom, please go by the main counseling office or email Mrs. Caraway.
Any junior or senior wishing to take the ASVAB on January 24 needs to sign up in the office by January 18th.
Students who completed ASU Medical Terminology and Human A&P classes, please turn in your textbooks and lab manuals to the front office ASAP.
The Jim Holsted Memorial Athlete of the Week is:Aidan Richey - Sophomore Wrestler. Aiden is the son of Thomas and Ronda Richey. he wrestled a great tournament this weekend only losing 1 match to the returning 2018 State runner-up by decision. Even as a Sophomore he demonstrates integrity and team spirit that sets him apart. He’s a great kid on and off the mat, and is a good student in the classroom.Presented by Mike and Susan Stockton
To all students: Please come join FCA every Wednesday morning from 8-8:50 during late start for some fun, breakfast, and good talks. (The FCA is similar to CIA at the junior high and is the group that sponsors the Fields of Faith every year.) They meet in Coach Bevel's room 405 in the HHS building. Anyone is welcome! The Nancy Luelf Junior Auxiliary Scholarship Fund application is available in the Counselor's office. Please see Mrs. Rose for the application, due date March 15,2019.
After school tutoring has changed from Mrs. Southard's room to Mr. Blasdel's room. Mr. Blasdel will be offering science tutoring on Thursday's right after school from 3:30-4:30.
Yearbooks are now on sale for $65 at jostensyearbooks.com. You may use the convenient layaway or credit card system there or come to the CAB hallway in Room 202 to buy your yearbook with a check or cash. Either way, you'll love having your friends sign your award-winning book at the year-end party!
Student Ambassadors need to check their Google Classroom for important information from Nurse C. There are several events coming up and Nurse C needs responses ASAP. Remember that you are required to participate in two service events per semester. If you don't fulfill these requirements by the end of the semester, you will be removed as an Ambassador.
The Math Department will be offering after school tutoring on the following days:
Wednesday . 3:30 - 4:30 pm - Wham's room
Beginning August 27, the English Department is offering free after-school tutoring from 3:30-4:30.
It will be in Mrs. Mattick's room (207, CAB Hallway) on Mondays,
and alternate between Tuesdays and Thursdays in Mrs. Camp's room (702 ACME Hallway).
