Hurricane swim team is having signups March 28 at Nelson Wilkes from 5-7 p.m. and March 30 at Mtn. Home Must be able to swim one length of pool unassisted.  www.mhhurricanes.com or call Coach Hope at 404-2128.


Prom tickets will be on sale during both lunches in the cafeteria on Wednesday and Friday this week. $25 each, they will go up to $30 after Spring Break! You can also see Mrs. Chapman or Mrs. Wescoat between classes to purchase. Date forms are located in the office and must be approved before you purchase the ticket.


Attention Seniors,
Jostens will be on campus Thursday, April 4 during both lunches in the lobby of the new gym to distribute cap/gown/tassel and any other items you may have ordered for graduation.  Please have your balance due with you when you go over to pick those items up.

Quentin is an exchange student from Belgium.  During the first week of the 2019 soccer season, he scored four goals and one penalty kick goal in the first three games.  He also added one assist. Quentin carried a 3.500 GPA during the Fall semester while also playing for the Bomber football team.

MHHS Cheer tryout clinic days will be held March 11th-14th from 3:30-5:30 in the High School Gym.  Cheer applications are available in the front office at both the High School and Junior High.

We are starting to collect pictures for the senior video.  You can submit up to 3 pictures and they can be from any age range, though it makes for a better video if they are from when you were younger.  If you took a picture at the beginning of the year for the composite, we will be using those pictures as well. Bring your pictures to Mrs. Keenan (room 105) or Mr. Obert (room 209).  You can also email pictures to jkeenan@mhbombers.com. If you bring in pictures, make sure that your name is on the back of them so that we can get them back to you! The deadline to submit them is April 30.






Prom tickets will be on sale starting Monday, February 18th.  Tickets will be $25 each now through Spring Break and then will go up to $30. Please see Mrs. Chapman, Mrs. Pugsley or Mrs. Wescoat if you would like to purchase a ticket.  BEFORE you try to purchase a ticket, please read the following requirements:

 

  • Each student is only allowed to purchase 2 tickets; one for themselves and one for a guest.

  • They must show a valid student ID (no ID, no ticket); juniors and seniors only are allowed to purchase the tickets

  • Guests must be at least in the 9th grade, no older than 20.

  • All outside guest forms must be turned in and approved by Mrs. Russell PRIOR to buying a ticket.

  • If a junior or senior buys a ticket for a freshman or sophomore, THEY HAVE TO ENTER PROM WITH THAT STUDENT! THEY WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THAT STUDENT.

  • We do not sell tickets at the door or after the deadline.

Any student who needs financial help attending prom, please go by the main counseling office or email Mrs. Caraway.



The MASH applications are available in the counselor's office. this is a two week summer camp that introduces high school students who are in the 10th & 11th grade. Students selected into the MASH program will shadow in a variety of health care locations, learn medical terminology and other medical procedures. If you are interested please stop by and see Mrs.Rose in the counselor's office.


The following Scholarships are available online and in the counselor's office:


ACT is offering a scholarship opportunity for current Sophomores and Junior's who register and take the ACT test on April 13th (registration d/l March 8th), June 8th (registration d/l May 3rd), and July 13th (registration d/l June 14th). The Grand Prize is a $40,000 4 year Scholarship + $5000 Tech Package.  There are other scholarships being awarded for each test date, as well- details are at ACT.org website.

Yearbooks are now on sale for $65 at jostensyearbooks.com. You may use the convenient layaway or credit card system there or come to the CAB hallway in Room 202 to buy your yearbook with a check or cash. Either way, you'll love having your friends sign your award-winning book at the year-end party!


After school tutoring has changed from Mrs. Southard's room to Mr. Blasdel's room. Mr. Blasdel will be offering science tutoring on Thursday's right after school from 3:30-4:30.

The Math Department will be offering after school tutoring on the following days:

Wednesday .  3:30 - 4:30 pm - Wham's room

Beginning August 27, the English Department is offering free after-school tutoring from 3:30-4:30.

It will be in Mrs. Mattick's room (207, CAB Hallway) on Mondays,

and alternate between Tuesdays and Thursdays in Mrs. Camp's room (702 ACME Hallway).

Be on the lookout around campus for flyers advertising this service.
