Baxter County Fair Scholarship- Due Sept.13th by 12 Noon A $500 per semester scholarship is available to any high school senior or college freshman who is a Baxter County resident and has not been a prior recipient. The applicant must have exhibited at least one year in the Baxter County Fair.
Wendy's High School Heisman Award - Due October 17,2018 Seniors who participate in at least one sport and have a 3.0 GPA or better can apply for this award. There will be 100 scholarships given to students ranging from $1,000-$10,000.
AES Engineers Scholarship - Due October 5, 2018
Our belief is that achieving a high grade point average should not be the only criteria for determining who deserves to be helped. For that reason we are offering a $500 scholarship that will be awarded on the basis of character, as determined by the evaluated essays that are submitted. Scholarships are intended for our future leaders across a wide spectrum of fields of study. This award is available to high school seniors and all students attending a post secondary educational facility. You are not required to be taking Engineering courses to be eligible.
The United States Senate Youth Program (USSYP) - Due by October 5, 2018
Two students from each state will be chosen to spend a week in Washington DC to observe the national government in action. Juniors or seniors may apply. Delegates are selected based on outstanding ability and demonstrated qualities of leadership. Students must hold an elective office in a student government, civic, or educational organization sponsored by the student's school. If selected, student must attend the Delegate Conference in order to recieve the $10,000 scholarship.
Moose Youth Awareness Program - Due October 15,2018
This program is for 9 -12th grade students. If you are interested, come to the L-Z counselors' office and sign up with the college/career coaches by October 15. You can help other kids learn about the importance of making good decisions. You will select a topic of your choice and develop a presentation. Students that are chosen will have an opportunity to attend the 2019 International Youth Awareness Congress in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Horatio Alger Scholarship- Due October 25, 2018 The Horatio Alger Scholarship provides financial assistance to students in the State of Arkansas who have exhibited integrity and perseverance in overcoming personal adversand who aspire to pursue higher education. Seven $5000 scholarships will be awarded to students who exhibit financial need.
VFW Voice of Democracy - Due October 31, 2017 Applicates must record a 3-5 minute audio essay written on this year's theme: "American History: Our Hope for the Future". Prizes and scholarships can be awarded at Post, District, state, and national level. State Winners receive an all expense paid trip to Washington D.C. March 3-7, 2018. The Grand prize is a $30,000 scholarship.
National Rice Month Scholarship Video Contest- Due October 31, 2018 USA Rice, co-sponsors a scholarship each year for graduating seniors who reside in (Arkansas, California, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Texas. Grand prise is $4000 Scholarship.
NCWIT Award for Aspiration in Computing - Due by November 6, 2017 For high school females in grades 9-12 who are active and interested in computing and technology. Aspirations Award recipients are chosen for their outstanding aptitude and interest in computing, proven leadership ability, academic performance, and plans for post-secondary education.
Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Scholarship - Due November 14, 2017
The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation College Scholarship Program is an undergraduate scholarship program available to high-achieving high school seniors with financial need who seek to attend and graduate from the nation's best four-year colleges and universities. Selected from a nationwide pool of applicants, up to 40 students will become Jack Kent Cooke Scholars and have access to funding for up to four years for undergraduate studies. If you have a 3.5 GPA and a minumum of 26 on ACT, you might be eligible for this scholarship. Each award is intended to cover a significant share of the students educational expenses including tuition, living expenses, books and required fees. Awards vary by individual, based on the cost of tuition as well as other grants or scholarships he or she may receive. Applicants could receive up to $40,000 per year.
The Hagan Scholarship - Due November 15, 2018
The Hagan Scholarships are for high achieving and self motivated students in need of financial assistance in order to attend college. These students will graduate from a public high school located in an eligible state and in a county having fewer than 50,000 residents. The Free Workshops and Schwab Investment Account are integral parts of the Scholarship. The average value of a four year Hagan Scholarship is about $24,000. Elks Most Valuable Student Scholarship - Due November 26, 2018 Applicants will be judged on scholastic achievement, leadership, and financial need. Applicant must be a US citizen. The student does not need to be related to an Elk. The scholarship is only available to high school seniors.
Sixt Rent a Car Scholarship - Due November 30, 2017 There will be five $5,000 scholarships awarded to high school seniors with a minimum GPA of 3.7 and who must attend college as a full time student next fall. Application and required documents must be received by the due date.
FRA Americanism Essay Scholarship - Due December 1, 2017 Students in 7th-12th grades are eligible to submit an essay 350 words or less on "What Patriotism Means To Me". Awards will be given on a local, regional, and National level. Grand Prize is $5,000.
AXA Achievement Community Scholarship - Due December 15, 2017
Every AXA Advisors branch office nationwide distributes up to twelve $2,500 scholarships to high school seniors who live and attend high school in their area. Applicants to the AXA Achievement Community Scholarship must: Be United States citizens or legal residents living or claiming residency in one of the 50 United States, District of Columbia or Puerto Rico, be current high school seniors who plan to enroll full-time in an accredited two-year or four-year college or university in the United States for the entire 2018-2019 academic year, demonstrate ambition and self-drive as evidenced by outstanding achievement in school, community or work-related activities.
Arkansas Chamber Singers Music/Vocal Music Scholarship - Due December 17, 2017
Two high school seniors will be chosen to recieve a scholarship. There will be one $1,000 award and one $500 award given to eligible students. Students need to have a minimum 3.0 GPA and be currently enrolled in Choral class in their high school. Interviews and auditions will be held Sunday, January 28, 2018 at 3:00pm at St. James United Methodist Church for qualifying finalist.
Arkansas Sports Hall of Fame - Due December 31, 2017 A $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to 4 Senior high school students. Two females and two males will be choosen based on an essay stating how sports have made a positive impact on your life. Essay must be received by the deadline. Applicant must attend an Arkansas College in the fall of 2018 to be eligible.
GE-Reagan Foundation Scholarship - Due January 4, 2018
Approxiamately 20 college-bound students who demonstrate leadership, integrity, drive, and citizenship will be awarded $10,000 renewable scholarships, up to $40,000 total per recipient. To qualify, student must have a minimum 3.0 GPA, be nominated by an eligible community leader, such as high school principal, and provide documentation to certify academic performance and financial need.
2019 American Legion Oratorical Scholarships - Due January 4,2019
The High School Contest is to develop knowledge of appreciation of the Constitution of the United States. Other objectives of the contest include the development of leadership qualities, the ability to speak clearly, intelligently, and acceptance of the responsibilities as well as the privileges of American citizenship. Scholarships are presented to the three finalists at the local Post 52 as follows: 1st place - $2,000; 2nd place - $1,500; and 3rd place - $1,000, and in the final round of the national contest as follows: 1st place - $18,000; 2nd place - $16,000; 3rd place - $14,000.
The Coolidge Scholarship - Due by January 24, 2018
This scholarship is awarded to any JUNIOR in high school planning to attend any college or university in the USA in the fall of 2019. This is a full tuition, room & board, and all expense paid scholarship for four years. Applicants MUST apply their JUNIOR year in high school to be eligible. Finalist will be flown to Vermont for an all expense paid weekend to be interviewed by finalist jury. The main criteria to quailify is academic excellence, a demonstrated interest in public policy, and an appreciation for the values Coolidge championed along with humility and service.
Redfin Scholarship - Due January 31, 2018 This scholarship is awarded twice a year in the amount of $2,500. Applicant must be a US resident, at least 18 years old or older, a graduating high school senior, or current college freshman, sophomore, or junior. Applicant must also have a cumulative, unweighted GPA of 3.5 or higher and submit a 300-500 word essay regarding a specific question.
ACT Student Champion Award Due by January 31, 2019 $500 will be awarded to one student. Applicant must have a minimum ACT score of 22 or have minumum GPA of 3.0 and must have overcome challenges in their life. Preference will be given to underrepresented and/or first-generation college students.
NWFA Scholarship- Due February 1, 2018 The National Wood Flooring Association Scholarship is for any high school senior with a 3.0 GPA or higher, 25 or higher ACT, and who plans to major in forestry or a related field. This is a $1,000 nonrenewable scholarship. All required items along with application must be postmarked by February 1st to be considered.
J. Marion Adams Divisional Scholarship - Due by February 1
Each ACTE division is allotted 2- $500 scholarships, one high school recipient and one post-secondary recipient. Applicant must be a high school senior enrolled in an approved CTE program and the sponsoring CTE teacher must be a current ACTE member providing verification letter with membership number and division. Completed applications and required documents must be submitted electronically from the sponsor's email by the deadline.

This $1,000 Scholarship is for students that plan to major in education, has a minumum GPA of 3.0, has a good citizenship record, and is a member of a service or academic organization. Applicant must submit 3 letters of recommendation.
Elks National Foundation Legacy Award Competition - Due February 2, 2018 This Scholarship will be awarded to the child, grandchild, stepchild or step grandchild of an Elks member. The winners will be awarded $4,000 ($1,000 per yearfor four years.)

2019 Bill Of Rights Institute Scholarship- Due February 14,2019
Winners of this year’s contest will receive a total of $20,000 in scholarship funds including a $5,000 award and a scholarship to 2019 Constitutional Academy to the grand prize winner. This year we are asking students to personalize their essays while encouraging them to expand their understanding of citizenship beyond an abstract concept, envisioning it as knowledge and actions inspired by America’s founding principles.

Plant Management Assoc Scholarship - Due February 15, 2018
Scholarship amount will range from $500 to $1,500 depending on candidate interest, evaluation results and upon recommendation from the Scholarship Committee. Any graduating high school senior or college student through their junior year can apply. Selection criteria is financial need, academic achievement, co-curricular participation, community service and essay response.
Bull Shoals - Lakeview Rotary Scholarship -Due by February 21, 2018 To be eligible for this scholarship, applicant MUST LIVE in Bull Shoals, Flippin, Midway, or Lakeview AND attend school at Flippin, Mountain Home, or be Home Schooled. THEA Foundation/Visual Arts Scholarship - Due February 26, 2018
This year's theme is "A visceral moment, occluded by one's intellect." Entry's will be judged based on interpretation of theme, originality, and design. 2D or 3D entries will be accepted. Scholarship amounts will vary from $4,000-$2,000 with multiple winners.

Parentinn-Cyberbullying Prevention for Teens Scholarship - Due February 28, 2018 Any high school or college student can enter to win $1,250. Applicant must write an essay of 600-1000 words on the topic "Why and How to stop cyberbullying?" Submit your article by February 28, 2018 to be considered. To be eligible, applicant must follow the guidelines.
Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation - Due March 1 Students can apply for CTE, undergraduate, or associate degree scholarships. Applicants must be child of active duty, reserve, or veteran of US Marine. Applicant must have a minumum GPA of 2.0 and annual family adjusted gross income no greater than $98,000.
Ducks Unlimited Scholarship - Due by March 1 This scholarship is awarded to high school seniors who are members of DU and maintain a 3.0 GPA or higher. Applicants must submit a 300 word essay with application by due date. There will be 61 scholarships awarded.
American Legion Auxiliary Academic Scholarship - Due by March 1, 2018

CTE Completer Scholarship - Due by March 8, 2018
$500 scholarship open to any MHHS graduating senior who has completed one or more programs of study while maintaining an overall 2.0 GPA with a C or better in the completed program of study in which they are applying. The American Legion Coudret Trust Scholarship & Garner Trust Scholarship -Due by March 12, 2019
The American Legion, Department of Arkansas, is offering eight (8) scholarships to be awared in the spring. Four of the scholarships are from the Coudret Trust Foundation in the amount of $1,000 each and four are from the Garner Trust Foundation in the amount of $2,500 each. The criteria for the two scholarship programs differ and will be available only to eligible students. MHEF Fine Arts Concentration Scholarship - Due by March 16, 2018
Any MHHS graduating senior that has completed one or more Fine Arts concentration program of study, while maintaining a 2.0 overall GPA with a C or better in completed program of study may qualify for a $500 scholarship. Completed application along with transcript, personal essay, a letter of recommendation, and cover sheet must be received by March 16th. Applications must be delivered to your Fine Arts Teacher.
UAMS Summer Pharmacy Camp 2018 - Apply by March 16, 2018
Only juniors or seniors are eligible to apply. Students interested must submit application, ACT scores, official transcript, and 2 letters of recommendation by the deadline. Recommendation letters must be from a counselor and/or math or science teacher. Camp will take place June 10-15th. This camp is designed to incorporate active participation in a broad spectrum of learning experiences for qualifying students that plan to enter the field of Pharmacy. Camp tuition is $400 and there are scholarships available to help with tuition cost.
Nancy Luelf Memorial Junior Auxiliary Scholarship - Due by March 17, 2018 Applicant must be pursuing studies in fields which address the needs of children and youth. The applicant must be a graduating senior that lives in the Baxter County, have a GPA of 3.0, have financial need, and have done community service. Must submit completed application with a letter of recommendation and a photo.
AAA/Centennial Bank Athletic Achievement-Community Service Scholarship- Due by March 28, 2018 $1,000 will be given to 5 male athletes and 5 female athletes that meet the following criteria: must have a min. cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher, a minimum ACT score of 21or higher, must be a senior athlete registered with AAA, must meet NCAA scholarship rules, display good leadership skills, and must have participated in other school activities.
Arkansas Rural Ed. Association Scholarship (All Seniors) or (School/Co-op Employee's Child) -Due in Counselors' office by March 30, 2018
There are two different scholarships available. One is for any senior at MHHS and the other one is only for the children of Mountain Home public school/co-op employees. Both of these scholarships are $1,000 awards for 4 years pending proof of college registration each year. Submit application, letters of recommendation, essay, and all supporting documents to the MHHS Counselors' office by Friday, March 30, 2018.
The Frederick H. and Kathleen H. Hornlein Scholarship - Due by March 31 Only students who have attended MHHS in MH, AR are eligible for the scholarship. This includes students who attended MHHS and later received their G.E.D. or graduated from another high school. The selection criteria for the applicant is financial need, character, and scholastic ability. Students can reapply for this scholarship each year but should apply using the reapplication. Applications may be mailed or hand delivered but must be received by the end of the business day of the due date. See attached Hornlein Scholarship Booklet for eligibility requirements.
Janice M. Scott Memorial Scholarship - Due by March 31 Between three and five scholarships will be awareded. Click on the Criteria Sheet for details. These scholarships will be issued on a one-time basis. Graduating student must have a 3.0 GPA or higher, demonstrated leadership abilities, and will be attending a full time accredited four-year college or university. Parents combined adjusted income cannot exceed $50,000. See check sheet for additional requirements.
Shelter Insurance Scholarship - Due March 31 One senior will by awarded $2,000 based on scholastic achievemnt, participation and leadership in school and community activities, and their reputation for good citizenship and good moral character. This scholarship is offered to graduating seniors at high schools where a Shelter Insurance Agent is actively participating in a Shelter Insurance Foundation Scholarship Program for the current school year. The applications must be received in the High School Counselors' office by 3:00pm on the due date.
Arthur J. and Blanch D. Raef Scholarship - Due by March 31 Recipients of this award must provide proof of admission to Arkansas State University Mountain Home. This scholarship is awarded based on academic achievement, extra curricular achievements and financial need. Scholarships are awarded for one year at a time. Recipients who wish to reapply for the next school year may do so using a re-application form.
Lakes Playhouse-Performing Arts Scholarship - Due by March 31, 2018 High school seniors or current college students can apply but all applicants must be pursuing a performing arts degree at an accredited school. Application and all supporting documents must be postmarked by due date. The award ranges from $500-$1,000.
(ASPMA) The Arkansas School Plant Management Association Scholarship - Due April 1, 2018
Any high school senior with a minumum GPA of 3.0, at least a 19 ACT test score, and planning to attend a College/University, Vocational-Technical or Trade School is eligible to apply. Scholarships will be awarded to students based on their leadership, scholastic achievement and civic participation. Scholarships range from $1,000-$5,000 and are renewable when funds are available.
The Gaylon Raney Memorial Scholarship - Due by April 1, 2018 This $2,000 scholarship will be awarded to applicant with the best essay of 1000 words or less stating why they should chosen for this award.

Virtual Business Scholarship - Due by April 1
Knowledge Matters, the maker of Virtual Business simulations, is pleased to announce the annual Virtual Business Scholarship for high school business, marketing and personal finance students currently enrolled in their junior and senior years of high school throughout the United States. Mountain Home Lodge B.P.O.E. No. 1714 Local Elks Scholarship - Due by April 6, 2018 at Noon The Elks' Lodge will award multiple $1,000 scholarships to area high school seniors. DAR(Daughters of the American Revolution Captain Nathan Watkins Chapter) Scholarship - Due by April 9, 2018 This is a one time non renewable $1,000 scholarship for a senior's freshman year in college. The American Legion Legacy Scholarship - Due April 9, 2018 This scholarship is for high school seniors and college students that quailfy and provide the required documents with the application. North Central Board of Realtors® Scholarship - Due by April 11, 2018 Two $500 non-renewable scholarships will be awarded to graduating seniors from the area who are planning to attend a university of their choice in the fall of 2017. Applicants from REALTOR® families or our Affiliates will be given first consideration.
Harvey, Lippold, and Beyer Scholarship - Due by April 12
These three scholarships are for graduating seniors at MHHS. The Harvey Scholarship is for education majors, preference given to future Math or Science teachers. The Lippold Scholarship is based on financial need. The Beyer Scholarship is based on financial need plus the student must be in the upper one-half of the class academically. If you apply for more than one of these scholarship, fill out a seperate application for each one and mark which scholarship you are applying for on each application.
The Kelder Scholarship - Due by April 12
Only students who are pursing studies in foreign languages (whether or not as their college or university within the state of Arkansas and whose interest is in teaching foreign languages are eligible for the scholarship. Those who are planning to teach foreign languages within the state of Arkansas will be given preference to the scholarship awards. Must be a full-time student. NAEC Scholarship - Due by April 13, 2018 Must be a 2018 graduating senior whose parents or guardians are members of North Arkansas Electric Cooperative. Must have a 3.0 GPA or higher on a 4.0 scale through the frist semester of their senior year, application must be typed.
Stanley F. Novak & Robert W. Griffith Memorial Scholarship - Due by April 14, 2018 Sponsored by The American Legion Alley-White Post 52, two scholarships will be awarded to graduating seniors from Baxter County. The Robert J. Stewart Education Scholarship - Due by April 15th This scholarship SHALL NOT be awarded strictly based on prior classroom performance. The Donor desires to assist students with the self determination to pursue further education in an effort to better him or herself. This scholarship is available for High School Seniors only. MHHS seniors or college students that will be attending ASUMH in the fall of 2018 are eligible for multiple scholarships that will be awarded in various amounts. Applicants do NOT have to be affiliated to the Home Builders Association in any way to apply.
Alley-White American Legion Auxiliary Unit 52 Scholarship - Due by April 15, 2018
Sponsored by Alley-White American Legion Auxiliary Unit 52. Letters of application are now being accepted for ONE $1000 general continuing education scholarship. All graduating high school seniors who attend school in Baxter County, including those are are home schooled, are eligible to apply. Please read the instructions carefully to be sure you have included all necessary information in your Letter of Application. The Ernest Whitelaw-Don Kinney Scholarship - Due by April 16, 2018
Awarded by the American Indian Center of Arkansas. $500 Scholarship. Applicants must be a documentable Native American descent from a federally recognized tribe. See the application for additional requirements.
Baxter County Cattlemen's Assoc Scholarship - Due by April 16, 2018
Applicant must be starting college as a Freshman, a Baxter county resident, planning on a career related to cattle industry or a contiued interest in the cattle industry. Selections are based on character, financial need, academic achievement and other criteria. Preference is given to children and grandchildren of ACA members. Scholarship money must be used in the 2018-2019 school year.
Fraternal Order of Eagles Scholarship - Due by May 1, 2018 Any high school senior can apply for this scholarship. Application along with official transcript, 3 letters of recommendation, and a 200+ word personal letter about your ambitions and future plans must be turned in the the counselors' office by May 1st.
Cameo Club G.F.W.C. Scholarship - Due by May 3, 2018 Any Mountain Home High School Senior may apply. Turn applications into the Counselors' office by noon on due date.
Cameo Club (Dr. Yoland Condrey Healthcare Scholarship) - Due by May 3, 2018MHHS seniors going into a healthcare field of study with a 3.2 GPA may qualify for this renewable scholarship up to 4 years at $500/semester. Application should be turned into the Counselors' office by noon on due date.Children of Valor Scholarship - Due by May 15, 2018This scholarship is for any high school senior who is the child of a full time or part time law enforcement officer, retired officer, or killed in the line of duty officer. The applicant should have a 3.0 or higher GPA and must submit application, official transcript, 2 letters of recommendation, and 500+ word essay by the due date. This is a $650 scholarship.
