Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation
This scholarship is for students planning to attend a non-degree certificate program or vocational training that is 12 months or less at a community college or private career school. Applicants must be the child of active duty, reserve, or veteran of US Marine. Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 2.0 and an annual family adjusted gross income no greater than $103,000.
MHEF Promise Scholarship
This scholarship is only for students who graduate from Mountain Home High School and will attend ASUMH. The Mountain Home Promise pays the remaining tuition after all other grants and scholarships have been applied. The Promise does not include payment for fees, books, and supplies. Students are responsible for these costs.

National School Plant Management Association Scholarship - Due December 15, 2019
This scholarship is for students who are pursuing an Associate or Bachelor degree. Any graduating high school senior, college freshman, sophomore, or junior is eligible to apply. The scholarships range from $500 to $1,500. The selection criteria are: financial need, academic achievement, co-curricular participation, community service, and essay response. The essay prompt is: ‘How a clean, well maintained, and safe school environment makes a difference in a student’s education?
Arkansas Tech University Creative Writing Scholarship - Due Dec. 15, 2019
Any high school senior is eligible. The Award: Six scholarships worth as much as $1,500 will be awarded. These scholarships may be used to pursue any degree program at Arkansas Tech, including the only Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in creative writing offered in Arkansas
Arkansas Sports Hall of Fames - Due December 31, 2019
Nine $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to 4 male and 5 female student-athlete high school seniors. These scholarships will be based on an essay stating how participating in high school sports has made a positive impact on your life. The winners of these scholarships will be presented at the ASHOF’s annual Induction Banquet, which will be held on March 13, 2020 in Little Rock.
GE-Reagan Foundation Scholarship - Due January 3, 2020
Numerous high school seniors who demonstrate leadership, integrity, drive, and citizenship are selected to receive a $10,000 scholarship renewable for up to an additional three years. To qualify, the student must have a minimum 3.0 GPA, and plan to enroll in a full-time undergraduate course of study toward a bachelor’s degree.
The American Legion Dept.Oratorical Contest - Due January 3, 2020
The American Legion National High School Oratorical Contest is a constitutional speech contest. Student applications are due by January 3, 2020. High school students under age 20 are eligible. Certification Form Contestants must be certified by February 7th, 2020 at the post level. All cerifications have to be submitted by Post to the Department Headquarters no later than February 22, 2020. Competition begins at the Department level February 29, 2020 and then the first place winner advances to a national competition. Legion department representatives certify one winner per state to the national contest in Indianapolis, Indiana, where department winners compete against each other in two speaking rounds. Rules & Topics The Department contest caps off with a final round that decides the three top finishers. $1000-$2500 awarded; National Level awarded to the top three finishers in amounts ranging from $15,000-$20,000.
The Arkansas Association of Federal Coordinators (AAFC) - Due January 10, 2020
The AAFC scholarship will be awarded to high school seniors who plan to major in education and enroll in an Arkansas college or university. To be eligible the student must have a minimum 3.0 GPA, exhibit a good citizenship record, and participate in extracurricular activities.
Elks National Foundation Legacy Award Competition - Due January 31, 2020
This Scholarship will be awarded to the child, grandchild, stepchild, step grandchild or legal ward of a living Elk member who joined the order on or before April 1, 2017. The applicant must be a high school senior and must have taken the SAT or the ACT. The winners will be awarded $4,000 ($1,000 per year for four years). If selected, students will be required to perform service once a year with an Elks Lodge during the four years the student receives the scholarship.
ACTE J. Marion Adams Divisional Scholarship - Due February 1, 2020
Each Division is allowed one secondary and one post-secondary scholarship. Sponsors may submit one application for each Division of which they are a member.
Samsung American Legion Scholarship Due no later than the first day of a participant’s American Legion Boys State or American Auxiliary Girls program.The application process will begin on February 14th, 2020
Restricted to high school juniors who attend the current session of either The American Legion Boys State or American Legion Auxiliary Girls State program and are a direct descendant or a legally adopted child of a wartime U.S. military veteran who served on active duty during at least one of the periods of war officially designated as eligibility dates for American Legion membership. Scholarships may be used for undergraduate studies and applied toward tuition, books, fees, and room and board. Winners are selected according to academic record, involvement in school and community service. Scholarships range from $1,250 - $10,000.
Schliemann Scholarship - Due February 21, 2020
Some scholarship awards will be given to high school senior girl students. Scholarship opportunities include full tuition for the CNA and Phlebotomy courses offered through ASUMH, as well as other $500 scholarships, some of which are renewable for up to four years, at the student’s higher education institution of choice. All applications and a letter of recommendation must be submitted via your high school counselor. Please do not email or mail the application to the Schliemann Center. The letter of recommendation has to be from a school counselor, school teacher, or administrator.
Eagle Scout of the Year Scholarship - Due February 24, 2020
Please be aware that this application must be received by department headquarters no later than March 1st. That means that the application has to be sent from the Mountain Home office before that date. The American Legion Eagle Scout of the Year will receive a $10,000 scholarship. Three runner-up scholarship awards will be granted in the amount of $2,500 each. Must have received the Eagle Scout Award among other requirements.
Thea's Slam Poetry Competition - Due February 24, 2020
This competition is only for high school seniors. Each poem must be original and must be memorized. The theme is “Brilliant, radiant, overcoming the senses.” The competition date is February 29, 2020 in North Little Rock.
Children of Warriors Scholarship - Due March 1, 2020
Fifteen scholarships, in the amount of $5,000 each, will be awarded to high school senior students who will be attending an institution of higher education. Must have 50 hours of volunteer service, and must be children, grandchildren, or great-grandchildren of veterans who served in the US Armed Forces during eligibility dates for membership in The American Legion: April 6, 1917, to November 11, 1918; and any time after December 7, 1941. Spirit of Youth Scholarship Fund - Due March 1, 2020
Five scholarships, in the amount of $5,000 each, will be awarded to high school senior students who plan to attend an institution of higher education. Candidates must have been Junior members of the American Legion Auxiliary during 2017-2019, and must be a paid member for the year 2020. Must have a minimum 3.0 GPA. Judging will be based on leadership, essay, and academic achievement. Applications must be presented to the local American Legion Auxiliary unit presidents.
Thea's Fashion Design Scholarship Competition - Due March 2, 2020
This competition is open to Arkansas high school and home schooled seniors. Students will have to describe in a written essay of 500 or fewer words the “why:” inspiration, importance, and an artist statement. Judges will consider the theme of this year, which is "Brilliant, radiation, overcoming senses". Sketches and design presentation date is March 7th at Thea Foundation in North Little Rock.

Bull Shoals - Lakeview Rotary Club Scholarship - Due March 4, 2020
To be eligible, applicants must live in Bull Shoals, Flippin, Midway, or Lakeview and attend Mountain Home HS, Flippin HS, or be Homeschooled. This scholarship is for college-bound students and vocational/trade training. This application may also be used by adults in the Lakeview Rotary Club area, who are returning to college or technical/trade school. Applications must be typed, neat, and complete. CTE Completer Scholarship - Due March 5, 2020
Scholarships are open to any MHHSCA graduating senior who has completed one or more CTE programs of study while maintaining an overall 2.0 GPA with a C or better in the completed program of study in which they are applying. A separate application must be filled out for each program of study you are applying. Requires a 200 word essay and a letter of recommendation. $500
Farm Credit Midsouth College Scholarship - Due March, 6, 2020
This is a $1,000 one-semester scholarship awarded to high school seniors or current college students. Must be sponsored by a Farm Credit Midsouth customer. Letter of recommendation, transcripts, and customer sponsorship form are required.
Thea's Creative Writing Scholarship Competition - Due March 9, 2020
Open to Arkansas high school and home schooled seniors. This year the style is fictional short story, prose, or poetry. The theme is "Brilliant, radiant, overcoming the senses." Maximum 1,000 words.
Coudret Trust Scholarship & Garner Trust Scholarship - Due March 13, 2020
The Coudret Trust Foundation offers 4 scholarships in the amount of $1,000 each for students who choose to attend an Arkansas or out of state institution of higher learning. The Garner Trust Foundation offers 4 scholarships in the amount of $2,500 each for students going to an Arkansas college,university, or technical/trade school. Selections are based upon American spirit, character, leadership quality, scholastic endeavor, and basis of need. Must be children, grandchildren or great-grandchildren of American Legionnaires. A brief autobiography will be required, using an essay format.
D.A.R. Captain Nathan Watkins Chapter Mtn. Home Scholarship - Due March 13, 2020
A $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to a senior high student who is pursuing a 4 year college degree. An essay, transcript, and 2 letters of recommendation must also be submitted with the application. Each applicant may be interviewed by the Daughters of the American Revolution Scholarship Committee. P.E.O. Local Scholarship Chapter DO Mountain Home - Due March 13, 2020
A $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to a female senior high school student who is pursuing a 4 year college degree. Arkansas Hospital Auxillary Assoc. Scholarship - Due March 15, 2020
This is a one-time scholarship of $1000 to a student who is pursuing or will be pursuing a degree in nursing or other medical-related fields. Financial need will be considered. It is very important that the student completes the entire application and enclose all pertinent information.
BRMC Employee Children & Grandchildren Scholarship - Due March 15, 2020
The applicant must be a high school graduating senior and be the child or grandchild of an employee at Baxter Regional Medical Center. The parent/grandparent must be an employee in good standing for at least one year and worked a minimum of 500 hours in the past year. An essay and a letter of recommendation must be submitted with the application.
The Caroline Meriwether Goodlett Chapter #2644 United Daughters of the Confederacy Scholarship - Due March 15, 2020
A $200 scholarship will be awarded to a senior student who can prove Confederate family lineage. Must have a minimum 3.0 GPA, be accepted into a college and plan to attend in Fall 2020, towards a four-year degree. Must submit application, letter of recommendation and an essay.
Thea’s Performing Arts Scholarship Competition - Due March 16, 2020
Ten scholarships are awarded to Arkansas high school seniors in the categories of dance, drama, and vocal performance. The audition length is 2 minutes. These auditions are: singing, dancing or acting. No instrumental solos or a cappella performances.The audition date is March 21, 2020 in Little Rock.
MHEF Fine Arts Concentration Scholarship - Due March 18, 2020
For any MHHS graduating senior that has completed one or more Fine Arts Concentration program of study, while maintaining an overall 2.0 GPA with a C or better in the completed program of study in which they are applying. Completed application along with a transcript, personal essay, a letter of recommendation, and cover sheet must be delivered to your Fine Arts teacher. This is a $500 scholarship.
Arkansas Rice Accepting Applications for Scholarship Program- Due March 20, 2020
This applicant must be a high school Junior with a genuine commitment to agriculture, community service, and leadership. The goal of Arkansas Rice is to educate on the benefits, importance, and economic impact our state’s number one crop, rice, provides its natives and millions around the world. April through September, Reps actively participate in a program designed to teach them about rice farming and the importance of this crop around the world through education and volunteerism. They are also invited to attend four different, on-site experiences during the program, to better understand the reach of rice in Arkansas. Over $15,000 will be awarded in 2020

Applicants must be pursuing studies in fields which address the needs of children and youth. The applicant must be a graduating senior that lives in Baxter County, have a GPA of 3.0, have financial need, and have done community service. Friends of the Baxter County Library Scholarship - Due March 27, 2020
Applicants must be a resident of Baxter County and be a senior student from a school in this county. Must have a GPA of 2.5 or higher and write an essay among other requirements. The amount of the 3 scholarships depends on donations, typically ranging from $1,500 to $500.
AAA/Centennial Bank Scholar Program - Due March 28, 2020
Ten scholarships of $1,000 will be given to senior student-athletes who are registered with the AAA. Must have a 7-semester min. cumulative GPA of 3.0, a minimum ACT score of 21 or at least 900 on the SAT, must meet NCAA scholarship rules, display good leadership skills, and must have participated in other school activities.
Carl Tapp Technician Scholarship Application - Due March 30, 2020
This scholarship is for any students that are interested in going to a diesel tech school.This scholarship will be awarded for one year for a full time student who will be attending a medium/heavy duty truck technician program from a school in Arkansas. Students may start school either in the Fall or Spring semester. The application has two sections: one that will be filled out by an official from the high school, and another section that will be filled out by the student.
LDA- Ralph G. Norman Scholarship - Due March 30, 2020
$2,500 will be awarded to an individual with a documented learning disability who will be attending college in the fall semester. Applicant must submit, application, documentation of learning disability, a short essay, transcript, and two letters of recommendation.
Stanley F. Novak & Robert W. Griffith Memorial Scholarship - Due March 30, 2020
For all graduating high school seniors who attend school in Baxter County (including those who are home-schooled or attend private schools), or are relatives of a Post 52 member in good standing are eligible to apply. Must provide documentation of a relative serving active duty in the United States Armed Forces, or parent/grandparent who is a veteran (any branch or service area) Two scholarships for $1000 per year for up to four years, with maintaining a 2.5 GPA given by American Legion Alley-White Post 52 by generous donations from the estates of Legionnaires Stanley F. Between three and five scholarships will be awarded to high school seniors.Must have a 3.0 GPA or higher, demonstrate leadership abilities, and will be attending a full time accredited four-year college or university. Shelter Insurance Foundation Scholarship - Due March 31, 2020
One senior will be awarded $2,000 based on scholastic achievements, participation, and leadership in school and community activities, and their reputation for good citizenship and good moral character. The Hornlein Scholarship - Due March 31, 2020
Only students who have attended MHHS in MH, AR are eligible for the scholarship. This includes students who attended MHHS and later received their G.E.D. or graduated from another high school. The selection criteria for the applicant is a financial need, character, and scholastic ability. Students can reapply for this scholarship each year but should apply using the reapplication. The Study of Engineering or Architecture Scholarship - Due April 6, 2020
The Arkansas Post of the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) will offer a $2,000 scholarship to a high school senior. Must have applied to a 4-5 year architectural or engineering curriculum, or to a college with a cooperative program to transfer credits to such a school. A letter of recommendation from a mathematics or science teacher is required.
AACTEA (The AR. Association of Career & Technical Educators Administrators) Scholarship - Due April 8, 2020
Two high school seniors will receive a $500.00 scholarship for their college freshman year. Must be a concentrator or completer on at least one Program of Study, have at least a 3.0 GPA, good citizenship record, and plan to major in a demand occupation among other requirements. Adeline Lynne Hais Dvorak and Clarence C. Dvorak Scholarships - Due April 12, 2020
For students who are graduating or have graduated from a high school in Baxter County. The Adeline L. H. Dvorak scholarship is for students of German heritage. The Clarence C. Dvorak scholarship is for students of Czech heritage. Students must possess good character and have a B average or better.
Harvey, Lippold, and Beyer Scholarship - Due April 12, 2020
These three scholarships are for graduating seniors at MHHS. The Harvey Scholarship is for education majors, preference given to future Math or Science teachers. The Lippold Scholarship is based on financial need. The Beyer Scholarship is based on financial need plus the student must be in the upper one-half of the class academically. If you apply for more than one of these scholarships, fill out a separate application for each scholarship, and mark which scholarship you are applying for on each application.
The Kelder Scholarship - Due April 12, 2020
For students who are pursuing studies in foreign languages as an undergraduate or graduate student at a university in Arkansas. The selection criteria will be based on academic ability, extra curricular achievements, and financial need. Scholarships are awarded for one year at a time and may be re-applied for each year.
NAEC Trust/Operation Round Up Scholarship - Due April 13, 2020
This scholarship is available for any graduating senior whose parents or guardians are members of the NAEC and is based on scholastic achievement, school and community involvement, as well as financial need. American Legion Legacy Scholarship - Due April 15, 2020
For children of post-9/11 veterans who died on active duty, or have a combined VA disability rating of 50 percent or greater. To qualify and apply you must be a high school senior and/or accepted at or attending an institution of higher education, among other requirements.
Baxter County Cattlemen's Association Scholarship- Due April 15, 2020
Applicant must be a starting college freshman, a Baxter county resident, planning on a career related to cattle industry or a continued interest in the cattle industry. Selections are based on the following: character, career plans, leadership potential, community involvement, agriculture involvement, financial need and academic achievement. Preference may be given to children or grandchildren of ACA members. If awarded the scholarship, it must be used in the school year of 2020-2021. Scholarship amount: $500.
Bill of Rights Institute. We the Students Essay Contest - Due April 15, 2020
The Contest is open to all United States citizens or legal residents who are students in grades 8-12, who are no younger than 14 and no older than 19. The essay prompt this year is: “What does civil discourse mean to you?” The national grand prize will be $7,500 (plus a scholarship to Constitutional Academy), the runners up will be five at $1,500 each, and the Honorable Mention will be eight at $500 each.
Horatio Alger National Career & Technical Scholarship Program - The priority deadline is April 15, 2020
For students who would like to pursue a career or technical program. Must have financial need and have demonstrated integrity and perseverance in overcoming personal adversity. Students must be under age 30, and US citizenship. A copy of the full Student Aid Report (SAR) must also be submitted.
Robert J Stewart Education Scholarship - Due April 15, 2020
This scholarship is for high school seniors planning to attend a trade school/VO-Tech or college full-time. A minimum of 3 character reference letters is required.
Twin Lakes Home Builders Scholarship - Due April 15, 2020
For any students who are going to ASU-Mountain Home/Trade school. Applicants must have an affiliation to the TLHB.
William H. Thompson Educational Scholarship - Due April 15, 2020
Only for students attending a Vocational-Technical school or Trade school. Applicants will be selected based on the student's financial need. Minimum of 2 reference letters from school counselors or teachers, and most recent federal income tax return are required.
Baxter County Farm Bureau Scholarship - Due April 17, 2020
$750.00 will be awarded to a high school senior who has an agriculture background or is going into an agriculture related field. Must reside in Baxter County and parent/guardian must be a member of Baxter County Farm Bureau. Letters of reference and ACT scores are part of the requirements.
North Central Board of Realtors - Due April 19, 2020
$300 scholarships will be offered to graduating seniors from the Mountain Home area, who are planning to attend an institute of higher learning of their choice the fall semester following graduation. Applicants from REALTOR® families or affiliates will be given first consideration. Award may be used for not only tuition, but also other school expenses.
Fellowship Cumberland Presbyterian Church Joyce Cook Memorial Scholarship - Due April 20, 2020
Open to all MHHS Seniors. Three letters of recommendation are requested.

Cameo Club G.F.W.C. - Due May 3, 2020
This is a one time $500 scholarship for high school senior students who are going to further their education after high school. Applications must be turned in at the Mountain Home HS counselor’s office.
AR Game & Fish Commission Conservation Scholarship - Due June 15, 2020
Must be Arkansas high school seniors or Arkansas college students pursuing a degree in an approved field of study. Please see the list of fields attached. Must maintain full-time status and have a minimum 2.5 GPA. This might be a renewable scholarship for up to eight semesters. A 300 word essay is required.
The American Legion Baseball Scholarship - Due July 6, 2020
Please be aware that this application must be postmarked and mailed to the department headquarters no later than July 15. That means that the application has to be sent from the Mountain Home office before that date. The American Legion will award several scholarships this year to a student that graduated from high school, is on a current roster filed with National Headquarters, and is part of a team affiliated with an American Legion post. Must submit three letters of testimony.
