Mountain Home Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Jake Long will host a welcome and check-in event for families who have enrolled children in the district within the past three years on Thursday, September 23, 2021 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. in Dunbar Auditorium on the Mountain Home High School Campus.
During this event, Long will give families an overview of the district and will answer questions from families. Long said that over the past few months he has met several new families who have not had an opportunity to attend many school-sponsored events due to COVID-19. “I think in the past we did a good job of welcoming families into the district,” he said. “There’s always room to improve in that area, and then you add in a pandemic that limits visitors and family interactions, and suddenly there are lots of families who don’t feel connected to our district or community in the same way that our longer-term local families do.”
