Mountain Home NJROTC's Mission
The MHHS NJROTC mission is to instill in students in United States secondary educational institutions the values of citizenship, service to the United States, personal responsibility, and a sense of accomplishment. We strive to motivate young adults into disciplined citizens. Most importantly we teach the navy's core values of Honor, Courage, and Commitment.
Naval Science Instructor - CPO Jason Williams
Chief Jason M. Williams was born on July 6, 1982 in Hot Springs Arkansas. He spent all his young life living in Hot Springs where he joined the Navy in July 2000. Completing Basic Training in Great Lakes Illinois he attended Aviation Electronics Technician “A” school in Pensacola Florida and EA-6B School in Whidbey Island Washington.
His first tour was with Electronic Attack Squadron 140 the “Patriots” while the squadron was assigned to Carrier Air Group SEVEN, serving on the USS John F. Kennedy CV-67. There he worked in the Avionics and Corrosion Departments.
In January 2003, he left VAQ-140 to attend Naval Aircrew Candidate School in Pensacola Florida, Survival, Evasion, Resistance, Escape in Brunswick Maine, and EP-3E Electronic Warfare Operator School in Whidbey Island Washington before being assigned to Fleet Air Reconnaissance Squadron ONE until 2010. While Assigned to VQ-1 he would deploy in support of Southwest Asia Operations to support Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom, deploy to Pacific Command and Southern Command in support of operations abroad.
In December 2010, he was transferred to Center for Naval Aviation Technical Training Unit Whidbey Island to teach EP-3E Electronic Warfare Operator Pipeline Course.
In February 2013, he was assigned Individual Augmentation Duty to Support Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Operations in Afghanistan attached to Combined Joint Special Operations Forces Afghanistan.
After his IA Duty he would transfer back to Fleet Air Reconnaissance Squadron ONE in August 2014. While attached to VQ-1 he would deploy to Southwest Asia Operations to support Operation Enduring Freedom, Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation Inherent Resolve, deploy to Pacific Command, European Command, Africa Command, and Southern Command in support of operations abroad.
In July 2018, he would transfer to the Center for Naval Aviation Technical Training Unit Whidbey Island to teach EP-3E Electronic Warfare Operator, In-Flight Technician, and Avionics Technician Pipelines while serving as the EP Branch Chief.
Chief Williams retired from active duty on August 7th, 2021 and began working as the Naval Science Instructor for the Mountain Home Navy Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps, Mountain Home High School and Career Academies, Mountain Home Arkansas.
Chief Williams has his Associates Degree of Science in Professional Aeronautics from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University.
Chief Williams’ personal awards include Air Medal (9th Award), Navy Commendation Medal, Navy Achievement Medal (4th), Army Achievement Medal and Various Campaign and Service awards.
