Year Round Scholarships

Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation
This scholarship is for students planning to attend a non-degree certificate program or vocational training that is 12 months or less at a community college or private career school. Applicants must be the child of active duty, reserve, or veteran of US Marine. Please see the link for more eligibility information. Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 2.0 and an annual family adjusted gross income no greater than $106,000.

Scholarships by Deadline

AACTEA Scholarship - Due April 1, 2021
The AR. Association of Career & Technical Education Administrators will offer two $500.00 scholarships to two high school seniors for their college freshman year.  Must be a concentrator or completer on at least one Program of Study, have at least a 3.0 GPA, good citizenship record, and plan to major in a demand occupation among other requirements.

AASFAA Scholarship Drawing - Due April 1, 2021
For students who are planning to attend an Arkansas college in the Fall of 2021.  The school has to be a member institution.  At least two $500 scholarships will be awarded.

Celebration of Life Scholarship - Due April 1, 2021
Awarded to a high school senior in the state of Arkansas, whose life has been affected by childhood cancer in some way.

This scholarship is for any students that are interested in going to a diesel tech school.  This scholarship will be awarded for one year for a full time student who will be attending a medium/heavy duty truck technician program from a school in Arkansas. Students may start school either in the Fall or Spring semester. The application has two sections: one that will be filled out by an official from the high school, and another section that will be filled out by the student.

ASPMA (AR School Plant Management Ass.) Scholarship - Due April 9, 2021
Any high school senior with a minimum GPA of 3.0, a minimum 19 ACT test score, and planning to attend a College/University, Vocational-Technical or Trade School is eligible to apply. Scholarships will be awarded to students based on their leadership, scholastic achievement, and civic participation. Scholarships range from $1,000-$5,000 and are renewable when funds are available. 

The Study of Engineering or Architecture Scholarship - Due April 9, 2021
The Arkansas Post of the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) will offer a $2,000 scholarship to a high school senior.  Must have applied to a 4-5 year architectural or engineering curriculum, or to a college with a cooperative program to transfer credits to such a school.  A letter of recommendation from a mathematics or science teacher is required.

The Contest is open to all United States citizens or legal residents who are students in grades 8-12, who are no younger than 14 and no older than 19. The essay prompt this year is: “What is the relationship between Equality and Justice?” The national grand prize will be $7,500, the runners up will be five at $1,500 each, and the Honorable Mention will be eight at $500 each.

For high school seniors or postsecondary/collegiate HOSA members who plan to continue or further their education in the health professions.  All applicants must create a Tallo profile and submit the scholarship application through  Scholarships are available in a variety of career fields, such as: Audiologist, Pharmacist, Dentist/Dental Hygienist, Nurse/Nurse Specialist, Allied Health, U.S. Public Health Service, Physical Therapist, Doctor/Physician Assistant, Public Health, Speech Therapist/Speech-Language Pathologist, Nuclear Medicine, Occupational Therapist, and Recreational Therapist. Having an interest in these fields is not a requirement to apply.

LDA- Ralph G. Norman Scholarship -  Due April 15, 2021
$2,500 will be awarded to an individual with a documented learning disability who will be attending college in the fall semester. Applicants must submit documentation of learning disability.  Eligible learning disabilities include: Dyslexia, Basic Reading/Word Reading Accuracy, Reading Rate/Reading Fluency, Reading Comprehension, Dysgraphia, Dyscalculia, Math Calculation, and Math Problem Solving.

Arkansas Rice Reps - Due April 16, 2021
For current high school juniors graduating in 2022.  This is a five month program (May through Sept.) to help educate students about the rice industry while equipping them to act as advocates in their communities and on social media.  At the end of the program, Rice Reps are able to submit a scholarship application.  Click here for more information.

Conway Regional Health Foundation Scholarship- The deadline has been extended to April 17, 2021
Must be residents of Arkansas or attending college in Arkansas.  Must be enrolled, or beginning their education in a health related career field. Awards may be used for tuition, books, room and board, or other education expenses.

$6,000 worth of scholarships will be awarded to qualified minority high school seniors.  Students will need to provide: a one-page essay, two letters of recommendation, and a copy of their transcript.


Tan Son Nhut Association Scholarship - Due May 1, 2021
Two $5,000 scholarships will be awarded to high school seniors who plan to attend college in the fall and who are direct descendants of someone who served in Vietnam. Must pursue a four-year degree.

TorHoerman Law Distracted Driving Scholarship - Due May 1, 2021.  Submission opens on March, 2021
For all incoming college freshmen. Award: $1,000.  Please go to the link to learn about the topic of the essay.

B.Davis Scholarship - Due May 22, 2021
For all high school juniors and seniors, and students currently attending any post secondary school.  Award: $1,000.  Essay: Describe the three characteristics of leadership you value most.  Discuss why you believe that these traits are so important and how you feel that they are developed in an individual.

Abbott and Fenner Scholarship Program - Due June 12, 2021
High school juniors and seniors as well as students currently registered in any accredited post secondary institution are encouraged to apply to this $1,000 scholarship. Candidates will have to submit an essay on the topic that appears in the link above.

AR Game & Fish Commission Conservation Scholarship - Due June 15, 2021
Must be Arkansas high school seniors or Arkansas college students pursuing a degree in an approved field of study.  Please see the list of fields in the link above. Must maintain full-time status and have a minimum 2.5 GPA.  This might be a renewable scholarship for up to eight semesters. An official transcript is required for the application.

BigSun Scholarship- Due June 19, 2021
All high school senior student athletes are eligible for this award, regardless of which sport they are participating in or in what capacity.  Students attending a post secondary institute are also eligible.  Award: $500.00. Essay required. 

A $2500 scholarship grant will be awarded to one outstanding High School student (Grades 9 -12). This award can be used for any educational purposes from books to summer camps.

AES Engineering Scholarship - Due October 5, 2020
For high school seniors and all students attending a post secondary educational facility.  Students are not required to be taking Engineering courses to be eligible for this scholarship.  Must submit the following essay of between 500 and 1000 words: "When you look back on your life in 30 years, what would it take for you to consider your life successful? What relationships or accomplishments will be important on this journey? Award: $500.  

The Horatio Alger Scholarship - Due October 25, 2020
For high school senior students who have exhibited integrity and perseverance in overcoming personal adversity, and who aspire to pursue a bachelor’s degree.  Must demonstrate critical financial need.  Award: $10,000.

National Rice Month Scholarship Contest Due October 31, 2020 
High school graduating students from rice-growing states such as Arkansas are eligible to apply. Make an original video about U.S., National Rice Month, and the importance of rice to you, your state, or the world in general.  The grand-prize winner will receive a $5,000 scholarship.


NHS Scholarship - Due December 1, 2020
High school seniors who are active NHS members must create a student account before they can apply.  MHHS students please email Mrs. Baker at to verify that you are NHS members of MHHS after you create your account. 

The United States Senate Youth Program - Due December 4, 2020
Two high school junior or senior students interested in pursuing careers in public service will be chosen from each state.  The 2021 program will be held in an online format.  Delegates are selected based on outstanding ability and demonstrated qualities of leadership. Students must hold an elective office in a student government, civic, or educational organization sponsored by the student's school. If selected, the student must attend the entirety of the online program in order to receive the $10,000 scholarship. 

National School Plant Management Association Scholarship Due December 15, 2020 
This scholarship is for students who are pursuing a Technical/ Trade Certification, an Associate or Bachelor of Facilities/Engineering degree. Any graduating high school senior, college freshman, sophomore, or junior is eligible to apply. The scholarships range from $500 to $1,500.  Selection criteria: financial need, academic achievement, co-curricular participation, community service, and essay response.  The essay prompt is: ‘How a clean, well maintained, and safe school environment makes a difference in a student’s education?

Arkansas Sports Hall of Fames - Due December 31, 2020
Nine $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to 4 male and 5 female student-athlete high school seniors, who will be enrolling in Arkansas colleges in the fall of 2021.  These scholarships will be based on an essay stating how sports have positively impacted your life. The winners of these scholarships will be presented at the ASHOF’s annual Induction Banquet, which will be held on April 9, 2021 in Little Rock. 

PB & J Scholarship - Priority deadline December 31, 2020
Open to high school senior students who have experienced personal challenges that may not have allowed them to perform well academically.  Transcript and 1 letter of recommendation are required (2 letters are preferred).  Second deadline: May 31, 2021

Arkansas Chamber Singers Music/Vocal Scholarship Due January 1, 2021
Available for Arkansan graduating seniors planning on majoring in Voice or Music.  Must have a minimum 3.0 GPA and be enrolled in the choral music program at the high school.  An audition and interview will be held on January 24, 2021 in Little Rock.  The first place is $1,000 and the second place is $500. Application.

GE-Reagan Foundation Scholarship - Due January 5, 2021
Numerous high school seniors who demonstrate leadership, integrity, drive, and citizenship are selected to receive a $10,000 scholarship renewable for up to an additional three years.   To qualify, the student must have a minimum 3.0 GPA, and plan to enroll in a full-time undergraduate course of study toward a bachelor’s degree.

Thea’s Visual Arts Scholarship Competition - Due January 8, 2021
Scholarships ranging from $2,000 to $4,000 are awarded to high school seniors from Arkansas.  This year's theme is "What it means to be me."  Entries will be judged on: artist statement, interpretation of theme, originality, and design.  Please check the link above for categories.

Hope for Healing Scholarship Due January 15, 2021
Two $5,000 scholarships will be awarded to undergraduate and graduate students currently enrolled in a degree program in mental/behavioral health, nursing, or addiction medicine.   Undergraduate scholarship applicants must have a minimum 3.0 GPA in the last completed academic year at a four-year institution, or if no college has been completed yet, a 3.5 high school GPA.

Thea’s Performing Arts Scholarship Competition - Due January 15, 2021
Ten scholarships are awarded to Arkansas high school seniors in the categories of dance, drama, and vocal performance.  The video should not exceed 2 minutes in length.

Coolidge Scholarship - Due January 20, 2021
Only for junior students planning to enroll at any college or university in the United States in fall 2022.  The award covers tuition, room, board, and expenses for four years.  The selection criteria is: academic excellence; interest in public policy and appreciation for Coolidge values; and humility and service. 

Thea's Creative Writing Scholarship Competition - Due January 22, 2021
Open to Arkansas high school and home schooled seniors.  The style is fictional short story, prose, or poetry.  This year the theme is "What it means to be me." Maximum 1,000 words.

Elks National Foundation Legacy Award Competition - Due February 5, 2021
This Scholarship will be awarded to the child, grandchild, stepchild, step grandchild or legal ward of a living Elk member who joined the order on or before April 1, 2018. The applicant must be a high school senior. SAT and ACT scores do not need to be submitted this year.  The winners will be awarded $4,000 ($1,000 per year for four years).  If selected, students will be required to perform service once a year with an Elks Lodge during the four years the student receives the scholarship.

Thea’s Film Scholarship Competition - Due February 5, 2021
Four scholarships in the amount of $2,500 are available for each of the following categories: Screenwriting, Directing, Cinematography, and Editing. Scholarships will be awarded to the student's institution of choice, regardless of planned major, GPA or test scores. Must be graduating seniors of 2021.This year's theme is "What it means to be me" and is open to interpretation by the artist.

AAFC Scholarship - Due February 19, 2021
For high school seniors of AAFC members. This is a $1,000 award for the first Academic Year, and will be awarded to full-time students who plan to major in education.

Open to students in grades 9-12 who have survived cancer or have watched a loved one or friend deal with cancer.  An essay has to be submitted writing about that experience with cancer.  Award: $1,000 cash prize.

Thea's Slam Poetry Competition - Due February 19, 2021
This competition is only for high school seniors.  Each poem must be original and must be memorized; three poems are required.  The theme is “What it means to be me.” The competition will be online. 

Thea's Fashion Design Scholarship Competition - Due February 26, 2021
This competition is open to Arkansas high school and home schooled seniors.  Students will have to describe in a written essay of 500 or fewer words the “why:” inspiration, importance, and an artist statement.  Judges will consider the theme of this year, which is "What it means to be me".  

Ted & Clara Gentry Memorial Scholarship- Due February 28, 2021
Open to children of employees of any Arkansas public/private waterworks or sewerage utility.

NWFA Wood Studies Scholarship - Due March 1, 2021
The National Wood Flooring Association Scholarship is for any high school senior with a 3.0 GPA or higher, 25 or higher ACT, or 800 or higher SAT and who plans to major in the field of forestry,  environmental science, or natural resources. This is a $1,000 nonrenewable scholarship.

For students who are incoming college freshmen or currently in college and are pursuing an Associates, certificate or Bachelor’s degree. Applicants must be the child of active duty, reserve, or veteran of US Marine (See link above for more eligibility information). Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 2.0 and a family adjusted gross income for the 2020 tax year that does not exceed $106,000.

Farm Credit Midsouth College Scholarship - Due March 5, 2021
This is a $1,000 one-semester scholarship awarded to high school seniors or current college students.  Must be sponsored by a Farm Credit Midsouth customer. Letter of recommendation, transcripts, and customer sponsorship form are required.

Ben Farmer Scholarship - Due March 12, 2021
A $2,000 scholarship will be awarded to a graduating senior who has a family member who worked/works in school transportation.  An essay is required.
