2024 - 2025 Important Handbook Changes: Cell Phones & Earbuds
Cell Phones:
Cell Phones are prohibited during class time
Students are encouraged to turn in their personal cell phones at the beginning of each class to the teacher to be held until the end of class.
Should a student choose to maintain possession of their cell phone, and have the phone out during class time, the disciplinary action is as follows:
1st Offense: 1 Day Lunch Detention (Student’s phone will be placed in a Magnetic Pouch for the remainder of the day and unlocked at 3:10 PM) The student maintains possession of his / her phone while in the pouch.
2nd Offense: 1 Day In School Suspension + The next day in the Magnetic Pouch which will be locked at 8:00 AM and unlocked at the end of the school day.
3rd Offense: 3 Days In-School Suspension + The next 3 days in the Magnetic Pouch which will be locked at 8:00 AM and unlocked at the end of the school day.
4th Offense: 5 Days ISS + 5 days in the Magnetic Pouch
5th Offense: Out of School Suspension with days in the Magnetic Pouch upon the student’s return to school
Phones are NOT to be out in the hallway during class time.
Phone use is permissible:
Before School
Transition time between classes
Lunch
After School
Earbuds / Headphones:
Earbuds / Headphones are NOT allowed in MHHS at any time during the school day.
Violations of this policy will be referred to the MHHS Handbook for Electronic Device violations
