Last weekend some MH German students joined German students from other schools to do chemistry experiments in German, led by a German UofA professor! What a fantastic experience! Below is a link to an article published by UofA about our time there last Saturday. https://news.uark.edu/articles/63353/high-schoolers-experience-chemistry-in-german-during-annual-stem-immersion-event?utm_source=newsletter&utm_medium=email2023-02-15&utm_campaign=news_headlines&utm_content=high-schoolers-experience-chemistry-in-german-during-annual-stem-immersion-event

Reading is great for stress relief!

In a 2009 study from the consultancy Mindlab International at the University of Sussex, testing found that reading reduced stress levels by 68 percent, making it a more effective means of relaxation than taking a walk, drinking a cup of tea, or playing video games.

Yesterday Captain Forrest "Weezy" Lowery visited with several MHHS students. Weezy is a 2011 MHHS Graduate and a 2015 Air Force Academy Graduate. He is currently an F-16 Pilot and B-Course Pilot trainer. Weezy shared his experiences in the United States Air Force Academy, Pilot Training, and Flying the F-16/Viper giving students some valuable insight. We love when our alumni come back to share their lives and experiences with our students! Thanks for coming!

Bomber Nation, MHPS will be in session tomorrow, Thursday, January 26, 2023. We will run snow routes. There are a significant number of homes still without power. We understand that our schools are a warm place with food that could be a blessing to many. We also understand it might create anxiety for some due to having to get dressed and ready without the normal sanitary procedures. We always encourage families to make decisions based on what is best for their children, but we will be here tomorrow and ready. Bathrooms, showers, and locker rooms will be made available for any student who requests their use. Thank you for your understanding, and please be safe. Jake
